Nov. 28th, 2023 12:52 pmI joined Livejournal 20+ years ago and I became totally enthralled about sharing my boring life, but learning to expand my mind and find out how others find hope and perseverance. I struggled to just post something, hoping to write something impactful and inspiring. I think for me that takes practice and consistency. Let me try again.
My children are adults - Daughter age 30 and Sons ages 28 and 24. My daughter is a middle school Special Ed teacher (bless her) AND a foster parent to two teenage girls (double bless her heart!). She's a powerhouse. I pray for her strength a every day. When she's not working or parenting, or helping and coping her best friends, she is just trying to regroup so we don't talk/visit as much as I would like, but she has my heart for sure. Middle child tried hard to make me gray haired his whole raising years. Somewhere he calmed down and gave me a lovely daughter-in-love and the most precious grandson about to turn 1 years old. Youngest tried to buck in his teens, but he's in a school/apprentice program for pipe fitting and well on his way to a great career. I am truly blessed.
Hubby is a landscaper and enjoys hands on/outdoors. He has put up with me for 31 years of marriage!
I am an Enneagram 5. Discovering this has been life changing. It gave me permission to be myself. I didn't find out I'm a very strong introvert until after marriage/kids. By that time it was suck it up and put on your big girl panties! My kids made it to adulthood so I call that a win!
I live in a 100 year old mill house. The Mill was bought by Goodyear and the workers had small houses around the mill and it was a thriving community with a school, pool, church all around. It's about 1000 square feet. I think the bathroom/laundry area was an add on. There is always something to be fixed, but I do love it. It has original hardwoods. I love to sit on my front porch. There are beautiful large oak trees all around.
I work as a Financial Secretary. This is new to me this year being promoted from Admin/Communications which I kind of miss, but getting much better pay by doing bill paying and payroll. Never a dull moment.
My faith is important to me. But I'm not trying to convert or judge others. I'd like to learn from others. I am convinced God is shining over us, speaking to us, wanting a relationship with us. I know for me I fight the noise of this world to listen and hear. This world is a messy, noisy place!
